Consolacion R. Alaras is a professor of UP Department of English and Comparative Literature and has served for two terms as chair of the UP Department of English and Comparative Literature. She has also served for two terms as head of the NCCA Committee on Cultural Information and Special Events; NCCA Representative to the Pamitinan Protected Area Management Board of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources; Member, International Earth Charter Educators; head, Multisectoral English Plus Project of the University of the Philippines and the Commission on Highter Education for the Filipino Earth Charter Classrooms and Communities; chairperson, Moral Recovery Officers Foundation, Inc.
Her many books and works include the following: Pamathalaan: Ang Pagbubukas sa Tipan ng Mahal na Ina (1988); Kuweba Pamitinan (1996); Rizal and the Katipunan Pilgrimage for Sacred Prophetic Politics in the Philippines for the World (2001); The Filipino Earth Charter Pamathalaan Dambana ng Bayan (2005).
She led Filipino Earth Charter Pamathalaan Dambana ng Bayan Pilgrimages to Asia, USA, Europe, Middle East from 1995 to 2005. Alaras was the project proponent for the construction of the Ark of the Covenant Dambana ng Bayan in Pamitinan Protected Area Landscape to embody the moral and sacred foundations of Filipino Civilization as envisioned by Dr. Jose Rizal and the Katipunan.
