Diana Agbayani was born on June 21, 1958 in Manila. She is a playwright, poet, translator and an instructor of Humanities in the University of the Philippines Manila.

      Some of her works include Isang Bagong Awit (1981, play staged in Cultural Center of the Philippines), Alipato and Umaga Na. She became the secretary of Linangan sa Imahen, Retorika, at Anyo (LIRA). She received the Japanese Friendship Program grant, Japan International Cooperation Agency in 1895, Siliman Writers’ Workshop fellowship in 1988 and UP Writers’ Workshop fellowship in 1989.
