A dramatist and poet, Onofre Abellanosa
was born in Pardo in 1913. A writer prolific in
many forms, his best story is "Ang Kagabhion"
(Bisaya, 1946). His plays include Florika
(1930), Ang Pahiyum Mo (1949), Gahum
sa Latigo (1965), and others. In 1948, he
won second prize in the Rizal biography writing
contest sponsored by Vicente Sotto. He contributed
to Babaye, Nasud, Tabunon, Bisaya, and
others. He taught at the Gullas High School in
Pardo, Cebu.
