Born in 1907, Ramon Abellanosa started writing at 16. He wrote fiction and verse but made his mark as a dramatist. His play Ganghaan sa Lubong was performed at the El Hijos del Pueblo social hall in 1926. His other plays are Binuno sa Palad (1926) and Doring. He was journalist, orator and publisher of Philipinhon and Newsday. He was active in politico-journalistic writing and served as councilor and then as vice-major of Cebu City.
