A highly respected dramatist, Vicente
Alcoseba was born in Carcar in 1859.
He studied at the Colegio de San Carlos and then
went to Hong Kong to study law. Alcoseba contributed
poems, stories, and articles to Ang Suga,
Bag-ong Kusog, The Freeman, Bisaya, and others.
He wrote the unpublished Ang Kamatayon ni
Leon Kilat (1925). Primarily a dramatist,
he has written some 20 plays, including the zarzuelas
Paz, Saloma, Ang Katapusang Hinabang,
and others.
He passed away in 1938.
