A poet, essayist, and translator, Kris
Lanot-Lacaba was born and raised in Metro
Manila and was educatedin the University of the
Philippines (UP) and the Jose Abad Santos Memorial
School.
His poetry has appeared in magazines like The
Sunday Inquirer Magazine, The Philippines Free
Press, The Philippine Graphic, Mirror Weekly,
Tulay: the Chinese-Filipino Digest, and
Panorama, and in anthologies including
The Likhaan Book of Poetry and Fiction
and Father Poems.
He works as a journalist for print and TV and
has worked as a teacher, a public relations officer,
a production manager for digital productions,
an actor and waiter. In 1999 he received the UP
Poetry Award and was named an Achievement Awardee
in the Field ofLiterature by the Philippine Women's
University in 2003. He was a fellow in the Dumaguete
National Writers Workshop, the UP National Writers
Workshop, and the Asian Artists Exchange Program
sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism,
South Korea.
