Mapua Tekno Teatro goes to Pasinaya 2012

Dubbed the biggest one day multi-arts festival in the country, PASINAYA 2012 closes the National Arts Month festivities with a harvest of performing arts productions.

On Sunday, February 26, the public can choose from over 300 performances from the nation’s different performing arts groups at a “SEE ALL YOU CAN FOR PHP20.00” scheme.

More than two thousand artists from dance, music, theater, visual arts, literature and cinema will be taking part in the festivities.

In line with the National Arts Month festivities, Mapúa Tekno Teatro (MT2), the official theater organization of the Mapúa Institute of Technology, will perform its 11th anniversary production at the PASINAYA 2012 with an excerpt of its very own “P3p3 p@@nhowz k N@h? (Pepe Paano Ka Na?)”.

Penned by Mc Tyrone Sapulmo with music and lyrics created by Harrold Saliba, “Pepe Paano Ka Na?” is directed by Kiki Baento. The play will be part of PASINAYA 2012 on Sunday, February 26 at 10 in the morning at the Tanghalang Amado Hernandez (Conference Room) of the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

The piece is in line with the vision of the MT2 to stage socially-relevant productions that engages the audience members to think rather than to get highly emotional about the play’s plot and the characters’ plight.

Baento heads the artistic team composed of Marco Luis Viaña, assistant director and production designer; Sapulmo, writer; Saliba, sound designer and technical director; Kamole Orense, lights designer and; Jezreel Bernaldez, stage manager.

The MT2 cast and production team include Alsus Adiaton, Kim Adulta, Irene Billones, Michael Caballero, Aljohn Casil, Earl John Dangalan, Alyshia Formento, Steven Galedo, Joyce Garcia, Julio Garcia, Anggoy Jalla, Lorenso Laviña, Anton Mercado, Camille Orense, Cyrene Tuaya, Aj Ramos, Chris Rimas, Jovy Vieja, and Charizza Villanueva,.

MT2 members Michan Mendoza and MK Espiritu created the advertising collateral design. Viaña is the resident coach of MT2 and Dante Sauquillo is the director of the MIT Office of Student Activities and Discipline.
