Irregular Haiku
by Alfred A.Yuson

When love subsided
We reached dry land
Feeling immensely heroic.

In disguise, we sought
Amends from all green things,
Careful to hail the sun.

From water to water
We felt all hearts soaked
In mischief and honor.

As rivers rose
To welcome our passion
We bled and wept for mercy.

No time to drown,
Now and for always,
Ever as survivors of faith.

Prayers were answered.
Dragonflies flew
From the first rains of reverie

Wings wet with promise
Shone and glittered, till the next
Love, till the next love.
